Shaded Base to cover old colour

Soft as a whisper powder brows 🌬

This was a cover-up of old reddish pigment that was left behind from previous PMU (not done by me)

To avoid unessesary extra pigment build up, instead of using a colour correcting pigment I just went ahead with the target colour as it was dark enough to cover and cool enough to neutralise the red somewhat (skin is also red from the tattooing so these will look cooler when they heal)

I made around 4 mega gentle passes of colour to ensure max coverage but softly soft saturation.

The client would like hairstrokes so I will create these in the 2nd session once this lovely base has healed and settled in ✨️✨️✨️

Fresh brows and healed Lashline Enhancement (6 months) 2nd picture is Brows 3 years faded.. Close up 🧐 'Nano Brows' @duesterwald_tattoostudio

What defines 'nano brows' has changed over the years. The term nano brows often used to be describing hairstroke brows that were made using ultra fine 'nano' needles but now its more likely that the term 'nano brows' is used to describe hairstroke brows that are made with whispy shaded hairstrokes.

Now the ultra fine needles are called 'accupuncture needles' which is ridiculous because they are not that.

At the end of the day, needle choice and suitable technique depends on, and can be really limited by the clients skin type, hair texture and desired outcome, and each artist will have their opinion and preference on how to create the most beautiful results ❣️ everyone has their style and vibe in the PMU world and clients will choose based on if it resonates and they feel comfortable with you.

I'm super grateful for the path makers and creators in the industry who have moved things forward and who share their knowledge, tips, tricks, preferences, products, amazing artistry and helpful trainings and I understand the need to 'coin terms' and trade mark techniques however I hope we don't get too lost in gimmiky/salesy labels that are constantly changing and can be confusing for clients and new artists.

Subtle eyebrow enhancement for this beauty 💕

I receive alot of first time clients who have light hair, wear minimal makeup and are nervous about how their Permanent Makeup will look (too dark, too thick, not natural looking🙈)

Once healed, PMU softens and fades from 20-50% so when I create a super natural look like this it often needs quite a bit of work on the follow-up appointment to build up the colour and shape...So why not go for it and just make it stronger the first time around?

⭐️ Because I want you to be able to 'test the water' and try out PMU in a way that isn't stressful for you
⭐️ Because I can't predict the exact % the colour will soften and fade by ~ everyone is different
⭐️ Because I am generous with my time and always allow plenty, including for the follow-up appointment

💋Lipblush HEALED after 1 session💋
These are my lips! I had a cancellation a few weeks ago and made the most of the time at the studio @duesterwald_tattoostudio It was pretty tricky tattooing them myself, I think I'll get someone else next time 🙈 but really happy with the results and a bit annoyed I didn't document the process more (before and immediately after)

When Lipblush is first tattooed it looks like lipstick (not so natural looking) Initial healing is quick and they dry out and peel within 4 days ~ then the colour settles and integrates over the next 4 weeks.

Lasts 2-5 years! 🪄✨️

Keeping it real here @duesterwald_tattoostudio There are so many photos that are posted of PMU on Instagram that are edited to the nines that create confusion about the expected results.

Only the very very occasional client walks in the door with perfect flawless skin and natural face symmetry.

For 'perfect' tattooing you need perfect skin as the tattoo becomes part of the skin, any flaws become part of the tattoo.

This was a colour correction Lipblush on my beautiful client with beautifully 'imperfect' lips. (She has a few natural lumps and bumps and some old scarring) She had had her lips tattooed a couple of years ago but the colour was too orangey/Coral for her and was highly saturated in areas and not at all in other. I worked with totally cool colours with no orange to balance this out. The immediate results still look warm (partly because the skin is red from tattooing and partly because the old orange pigment was so strong and is still part of the mix) but we loved the results and can't wait to see them healed and add some more layers of shading if she needs it 🙌🏽❤
